Use the Blaze Kamado Half Round Heat Deflection Plate to create a direct and an indirect zone in your Blaze Kamado. With the half round heat shield you can divide the BBQ into 2 zones, a cool indirect zone above the heat shield and a warmer direct zone next to it.
Grill your meat above the direct zone and slide it to the indirect side to continue until you reach the right core temperature. The indirect side is also ideal for cooking side dishes or vegetables at lower heat.
